  • Vehicle Information: Year, make, model, trim level, mileage, condition, title status, and any photos you upload
  • Transaction Information: Details related to your vehicle sale, pickup scheduling, and payment
  • Communications: Messages, questions, or other content you send us

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device & Usage Data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and time spent on pages
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate our site, measure performance, and serve relevant advertising. See Section 6 for details.
  • Call Data: If you call us, calls may be recorded for quality assurance and training. You will be notified at the start of the call.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Connect you with the single vetted local buyer in our network who serves your area
  • Communicate with you about your offer, schedule vehicle pickup, and process your transaction

  • Operate, maintain, and improve our website and Services
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, or technical problems
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third-party marketers. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Your Local Buyer: When you request a quote, we share your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, and vehicle details with the single licensed local buyer (junkyard, salvage yard, or auto recycler) in our network assigned to your area. This is the core function of our service — connecting you with a buyer who can pick up and pay for your vehicle. That buyer receives your information solely to fulfill your transaction and is not authorized to use it for any other purpose.
  • Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate our Services, including SMS messaging platforms, email delivery providers, website hosting providers, payment processors, and analytics providers. These vendors access your information only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for other purposes.
  • Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
  • Business Transfers: If Clunqr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of its business or assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our website of any such change in ownership and any choices you may have.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third party for marketing purposes under any circumstances.

4. SMS Text Messaging

When you provide your phone number and submit a quote request on our website, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from Clunqr (short code or 10-digit long code) related to your vehicle transaction. This consent is given under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

SMS messages we send may include:

  • Your vehicle offer details and any updates to that offer
  • Pickup scheduling confirmation and reminders
  • Follow-up questions about your vehicle or transaction
  • Notifications about your offer expiration
  • Customer support responses

Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your transaction. You may receive up to 10 messages per vehicle quote request.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent.

Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not required to consent to receive SMS messages to obtain a vehicle offer or use our Services. You may request a quote and complete a transaction without receiving SMS messages by contacting us directly by phone or email.

Your mobile opt-in information will not be shared with or sold to any third party for their marketing purposes.

5. Email Communications

By submitting your email address through our quote form, you consent to receive transactional emails related to your vehicle offer and pickup. You may opt out of non-transactional marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly. You cannot opt out of transactional emails (such as pickup confirmation) while a transaction is in progress.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use the following types of cookies and tracking tools on our website:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function. They cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics Cookies: We use Plausible Analytics (privacy-friendly, no personal data stored) and Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our site.
  • Advertising Cookies: We use Google Ads tracking (including the Google Ads conversion tag) to measure the performance of our paid advertising campaigns. This may involve placing a cookie on your device when you click an ad.
  • Fraud Prevention: We use ClickCease to detect and prevent fraudulent ad clicks.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our site. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, but you can opt out of Google advertising cookies at adssettings.google.com.

Quote and transaction records are typically retained for a minimum of five (5) years for business and legal compliance purposes. We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and secure hosting infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use caution when submitting personal information online.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions

Categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months: Identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), commercial information (vehicle details and transaction history), internet or other electronic network activity (usage data), and geolocation data (ZIP code/address).

Categories disclosed for a business purpose: Identifiers and commercial information are shared with local buyers and service providers as described in Section 3.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
